“The dog lives for the day, the hour, even the moment.”
– Robert Falcon Scott
“Finally, they’ve left the camper and left the typing machine out. Chaos! We can write our blog post! … Chaos? Dude, yes they are gone, stop your whinging, you know they always come back, staring at the door won’t help, so get your arse over here and come and help me put our travel experiences in writing!” “Hey, you’re not allowed to say arse!” “Yes, I am. I am twelve years old and am allowed to say whatever the heck I want.”
“Oh, I’ve found it. I can type here…”

Our parents, “Mummy and Daddy!” …Anne and Jasper, decided they wanted to see the world. They said it would be fun, so we got excited as well…then for a looong time, nothing happened. “Remember that? We went walking along the Rhine every day and got to chase bunnies!” “Yes, I remember, we also lived in that very cold house, which was constantly a mess until the last 6 months or so when it was finally a cosy place.” “Yes, but then we moved in with granddad, which was even better because I got cuddles all day from him.” “Only because you are a suck-up little whiney boy” “I am not! I am a well-behaved dog, it’s just when they leave and I don’t know if they’re ever coming back I start worrying and my anxiety kicks in…I can’t help it!” “Okay, okay, let’s just get back to the travels.”
One day we had visitors to our house and after they left, we were told the house was sold and we would be moving. Furniture started disappearing and things changed. It made us a bit nervous because we had no clue where we were going to live. But for the most part, life carried on as normal. Then, about two months after the changes started, we drove to Granddad’s and simply stayed there.

It took us a while to settle in at Granddad’s as we had lived in the same neighbourhood for ten years. The long walks in Ophemert were the best though; off leash for hours and hunting to our hearts’ content! “And we were hardly ever alone, don’t forget to mention that!” “Yes, yes” We got fifty per cent more attention than before; life was good, and we had a routine again, which we like.
Then, one day, we were dragged out to see the Tardis. We had previously been on three really long drives with it. We would drive for days, have some fantastic walks and end up back home. But… “Oh yes, I had forgotten the three trips to fun places, once was the beach, the other time lots of woods and then there was the place with the lake.” …but this was like a different vehicle. Everything smelled new. “Yes, it smelled gross. Like paint, and those cushions, so new! Disgusting, I’m really glad that was sorted in a matter of days and it smells like us now.” “The first day of rain helped with that.” “Hahaha, yes, yes it did!” It was roomier and the couch was now an L-shape so “I can no longer roll off the settee when driving!” Chaos no longer falls of the couch due to sheer incompetence when we turn a corner. “Hey!” We knew at that moment that there would be new drives to long walks coming up soon, but we could never have guessed the reality of the length of drive to this future long walk. It must be epic! It just must! The walks we have had along the way are already ones for the books. We have been climbing and bouldering, running on the biggest beach I “WE!” “Sorry” WE have ever seen. We have hiked through woodland, swam in lakes, strolled through really big cities, and it seems to be never-ending. Every day we get up and one of the parents takes us out for a walk. After breakfast, the typing machines are put on the table and we have a couple of hours for some naps. “Looooove the nap time!” “You would nap all day if you could.” “I need my beauty sleeps!” After lunch we all go on a long walk. This can vary from one hour to the entire afternoon and is sooo much fun! “Tell them about the exploring, and the smells, and the running, and the sheep…tell them about the sheep!” “Argh, dude! Give me a chance to get to it! “We do all sorts of fun things and I even got to smell a sheep up close and personal! “I notice you are happily leaving out how much it scared you once you got close and you ran off like the little girl you are!” “Shut up!” When we are parked in nature and the weather is nice, we get to chill wherever we want. So, in the camper, outside the camper, as long as we stay in the vicinity “vici-what?” “Vicinity, from the quote by Julius Caesar, ‘Veni Vidi Vicinity’; it means near, we have to stay near the camper.” “Yes, that’s true…vicinity.” we seem to have all the freedom in the world. The driving can be a bit bumpy at times, but we have grown used to that “Especially since we get a bone every time we park for the day!”
All-in-all, we are both enjoying “LOVING!” loving this new lifestyle! We just hope that the walk we are driving to is as epic as in our dreams. “Oh, and tell everyone about your Instagram. You keep moaning that you want more followers, now is your chance!” “Oooh…good one!”
